Abstract

This paper is an attempt to investigate the verse of the Sarajevo poet Zekeriyah Sukeri (17th c.) and see whether the author writes about profane love or mystic Love. In the interpretation of the symbols used in the verses containing the word Love, of the sintagms that are directly related to the notion thereof, then of the manifestations of Love in the state of the Enamourod and the attitude of the Beloved, where the Enamourod is an eternal sufferer who is not doomed to experience Union, where the Beloved scorns and shoots him with his look, where both the Beloved and the Enamoured are constants who in this interrelation await, seek only what such an interrelation gives them, where the Feast of Love waters the Enamoured with miraculous wine, etc., we can see that the author presented as knower of the Path of Love – gifted with the ability of the spiritual experiencing, speaks about (mystic) true Love in which “God is Love indeed, but this Attribute does not exhaust His Reality… His Existence is the Existence of Love, as well as the Existence of all His Attributes, since in His Essence He is above them all.”
